My reflections on Blair Enns’ Manifesto
As we wrap up the end of 2025, I’ve found the time to read Blair Enns’ Manifesto for Creative Firms: The Win Without Pitching Manifesto.

Enns’ discusses The Twelve Proclamations which are essentially twelve pledges for creative firms which are breaking out of the majority and doing business differently. This is one of our core values at Harrison Brands, embracing B Corp values and using our power to use business as a force for good.
These proclamations helped me to really understand how Harrison Brands differentiates to the general design firms.
At Harrison Brands, we refuse to devalue our services by pitching our ideas for free. Reading this book emphasised the importance of this: how do we expect clients to understand the value of our services when we happily give them out for free? Creativity should not be a free service that we use to get more business, therefore this is not part of our pitch process.
Additionally, Step Two of We Will Rethink What it Means to Sell: Inspiring the interested particularly resonated with me. Ensuring you constantly show up and remain at the forefront of potential clients’ mind has a great impact on the future.
Similarly, Enns’ discussed the importance of showcasing your work: ‘Our portfolios are our best tools of inspiration. They show the client what they could be’. I deeply believe in the importance of this and at Harrison Brands, we are excited that we are currently working on re-vamping our website. In March, it will go live filled with examples of our work, showcasing our passion and skills.
I look forward to implementing what I’ve learnt from this book into our brand strategy for 2026 and helping it to shape the path of Harrison Brands as we continue to do business differently.
